The Stalin Song (ukulele chords)

Here's The Stalin Song, originally part of my Edinburgh Fringe show, "A Nifty History of Evil" in 2010. It was covered and parodied by the lovely Janet Dudley at Supanova Brisbane 2011 - and I bust it out pretty much whenever I feel like it (which is constantly). It's a sing- a- long about Soviet history, so, you know - feel free to gather your friends and remember the good old days of collective farming, five year plans, steel mills and political genocide.

Chords just go C, F, G, C. Cycles through whole song.

The Stalin Song (A Sing- a- long for Everyone)

C                                          F
Once upon a time there were three bears,

G
Their names were Lenin,

 C
Trotsky and Stalin,

C                                F
They all lived in a giant house,

G                                     C
a giant house called Russia.

C                                            F
One day the three bears went to a party,

G                  C
It was the Bolshevik party,

C                   F
Everybody was invited,

G
Except the rich,

C
Because they were all dead!

CROWD: Deaditty, deaditty, deaditty,
deaditty, deaditty, deaditty, dead!

(C, F, G for two “deaditties” each. Finish on “C” for dead)

When they got back from the party,
Lenin said, “Someone’s been eating my porridge!”
Stalin said, “It was Trotsky!”
And jammed an ice- pick through Trotsky’s head!

CROWD: Stabbity, stabbity,
stabbity, stabbity, stabbity,
stabbity, ow!

At that point, Lenin said,
"Someone's been having a stroke in my bed!"
"Someone's been having a stroke in my bed!"
Then he had a stroke in his bed!

CROWD: Strokedy, strokedy,
Strokedy, strokedy,
Strokedy, strokedy,
Stroke!

So Stalin was the only bear left in Russia,
And Stalin had this story re- edited,
So he was the only bear who’d ever lived in Russia,
This is how the story goes:

Once upon a time,
There was Stalin,
There was never a time before Stalin!
There was only Stalin, Stalin, Stalin, Stalin, Stalin – everybody!

CROWD:STALIN, STALIN,
STALIN, STALIN,
STALIN, STALIN, STALIN

Just the ladies!

STALIN, STALIN,
STALIN, STALIN,
STALIN, STALIN,
STALIN

Just the gentlemen!

STALIN, STALIN,
STALIN, STALIN,
STALIN, STALIN, STALIN

Just the Communists!

(See what happens)

The Cosplay Song (ukulele chords)

Hello! In light of lovely requests from lovely people, here are the chords to The Cosplay Song, improvised onstage at the Supanova Pop Culture Expo, Perth in 2008, popped onto YouTube that same year - and vaguely haunting me ever since. :-) It's a lot of fun to play live, so feel free to spread the three- chord joy and bafflement wherever folks may want to dress up like Cloud from Final Fantasy VII.

Formatting is a little off, but the final "G" in each sequence comes on the last word of the line.
